After sharing a life of an orphaned child, Paul Masembe was inspired to make a difference by giving the less privileged a chance to attain their dreams. In 2009, Paul Masembe shared the Shalom dream with a group of friends who discouraged him, they told him that registration was taxing and that maintaining a charity was an expensive venture.

His dream however was rejuvenated in 2010 when together with a couple of friends were able to give birth to Shalom For Africa. Shalom For Africa was founded with a hope of igniting dreams of the less privileged.
